The Danville Farmers Market in Danville, Vermont, kicked off Independence Day festivities a little early on July 1 with a patriotic bicycle parade that proved some of the biggest smiles come on the smallest wheels.
Children arrived with bicycles, scooters, wagons, and strollers decked out in red, white, and blue streamers, balloons, flags, and homemade decorations before making their way around the Danville Green. Parents walked alongside, grandparents cheered from the sidelines, and the market buzzed with the kind of simple joy that defines a Vermont summer.
The event was part of the Danville Farmers Market’s Early Independence Day Celebration, which combined local vendors, live music, family activities, and community fellowship into an afternoon that felt less like a shopping trip and more like a hometown reunion.
Sometimes the best community traditions aren’t the biggest or the loudest. They’re the ones where a child proudly pedals a decorated bike, a family gathers on the town green, and for a little while, everyone slows down to celebrate together.
