For one weekend each June, the streets of Enosburg Falls become a celebration of the people, traditions and agricultural roots that have shaped this corner of Vermont for generations.
The 2026 Vermont Dairy Festival, held June 4–7, marked the festival’s 70th anniversary. Organized by the Enosburg Falls Lions Club, the longtime community tradition brought families, local organizations, farmers and visitors together for four days of events in and around downtown Enosburg Falls.
Despite periods of rain, families lined the parade route as floats, tractors, community organizations and other entries made their way through town. Musicians filled the streets with music, while children eagerly waited for candy, waves and the next colorful entry to come into view.
The festival has deep ties to the agricultural identity of Franklin County, and that connection could be seen throughout the weekend—from tractors and dairy-themed displays to the people whose families have called this part of Vermont home for generations.
But events like the Vermont Dairy Festival are about more than what happens in the parade.
They’re about neighbors reconnecting along the sidewalks. They’re about children perched at the edge of the curb waiting for the next float. They’re about families sharing umbrellas when the rain begins and people stopping long enough to enjoy a Saturday morning together.
Those smaller moments are often what catch my eye.
Sometimes the story is found in the parade itself. More often, it’s found in the people standing along the curb, sharing an umbrella, waving at a float or simply enjoying a day together in their community.
These photographs capture just a few of the faces, details and moments that made the 2026 Vermont Dairy Festival in Enosburg Falls memorable.
